In the interest of keeping myself in practice, today's entry is filler. In the past I've used this title for filling in posts on the blog with pictures. Sadly I haven't cruised any picture caches for awhile so I don't have one of those for you. I may think of one while writing this that will get added in.
Most recently my non janitorial activities have consisted of watching Arrow. It's funny to me that now is when I'm actually getting into superhero series. Batman was always a thing, but most of my knowledge about superhero stories came from movies and cartoons. I was never a big comic reader growing up, my taste ran to novels and short story anthologies.
Now with so many shows getting pitched to networks, learning comic lore is as easy as binge watching over a weekend. The convenience is great but, I get concerned about how much less I read these days. So far this year I believe I've only finished six or seven books. I tend to not count articles published online as serious reading. It is an unfounded prejudice, but one I hold despite that fact.
Holding a book and turning the pages has always been integral to my experience while reading. The rasping sound of a paper edge touching skin, while anticipating the next word as you turn the page is totally missing from reading electronically. I will not deny the advantage of typing for the content creator, but I do lament the familiar texture of paper under pen.
I've only got a few minutes before my writing exercise is over so I suppose I should close up. How does one close up a short fragmented whim like this?
